Thank you, asante sana, merci and muchas gracias for your WONDERFUL presentation. We loved it! Your enthusiasm was energizing, and we appreciated your statistics. It was such a treat to have you here in Hollister. My colleagues were so happy and they are still talking about the event."
Edwina Worden, Co-President
San Benito County Reading Council
As a keynote speaker, Matthew
provides lively talks designed to engage, entertain and
inspire. His keynote address audiences range from teachers, librarians and pre-school and elementary school administrators, to Spanish-speaking parents who may be new to literacy customs. He hooks his audience from the opening drum solo and continually demonstrates hislove of books and language. Call on Matthew for diversity training--or
to promote reading at school and at home. Schools with linguistically diverse communities especially appreciate Matthew's ability to engage parents of all backgrounds in English, Spanish, or both at
the same time! Between hand-claps, chants and rhythmic storytelling,
Matthew draws on his unique background
as an award-winning author, literacy consultant, storyteller, musician, parent, and even soccer
coach. No one sleeps through a Matthew Gollub performance!
Matthew has
been a keynote speaker at numerous national and statewide conferences
including Reading the World, Head Start, Teachers for Tomorrow, California
Reading Association (CRA), California School Library Assocation (CSLA),
California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE), the North Carolina
Reading Association (NCRA), the Massachusetts Reading Assocation (MRA),
Head Start, and Migrant Education Even Start (MEES). He has also been
a featured speaker for Families in Schools, the Texas Library Assocation
(TLA) and the International Reading Association (IRA). Many of the
above conferences invite him back regularly.
Conferences may purchase copies
of Matthew's award-winning books to distribute as an added benefit
to participants. The choices range from books with CD's to literacy booklets and picture
books in English and Spanish. Often conferences report an uptick in
attendance when they publicize that participants will receive Matthew's
books!
Depending on the timing and size of your conference, Matthew may be able
to contribute more than one presentation. He can tailor
keynote addresses to anywhere from 2060 minutes; then, for example,
provide a "break-out" session depending on times and logistics. (Click back, then click TEACHER INSERVICES for ideas of possible workshops.)
